Bluebridge Ferry 30′ TVC
At the beginning of last year I was assigned to shoot the Tour of New Zealand cycle race for Ben Carter. It was an incredible memorable experience and a great way to explore the South Island. Ben also used some of my imagery from this shoot in a series of commercials he directed for Bluebridge Ferry. Gotta love NZ!
Shooting on Red Epic-M!
I’m stoked to announce I am now shooting on the Red Epic-M! I’m shooting on this camera to service my rapidly growing commercial workload and offer my clients one of the best cameras in digital cinema, in-house. The Epic-M sports the ability to shoot 1-120FPS at 5K and up to 300FPS at 2K in Redcode RAW. It offers over 13 stops dynamic range, and up to 18stops with HDRx. An incredible tool for powerful story telling and advertising!
The Red Epic-M is a very versatile camera and is suitable for a wide range of jobs. From Blockbuster Features, to Commercials and Independent films. It is available with both Canon and Nikon lens mounts, of course along with the PL mount.
I also own the SonyFS700 & Canon5DMKII along with a wide range of accessories. Please refer to my kit list for all details. All of my equipment is available for rental. Please contact me for rates and availability.
The Quiet Achiever – Conor Macfarlane
For many years I have wanted to create a multimedia project that crosses visual mediums, from print in a magazine through to the digital screen with a film. The opportunity arose when Conor Macfarlane gave me a call and together we created ‘The Quiet Achiever’ We’ve released the short film online and it has sprawled throughout the plethora of action sports websites rapidly. In the next issue of Spoke Magazine we have an 8 page feature that ties in with the film that I photographed, along with the cover below.

Trippin’ Short Film
At the end of last year I went on a spontaneous roadtrip with friends, that re ignited some feelings and inspired me to write and create this short film, titled trippin’. I shot this film in 2 days spread over December and January. Between myself and my assistant/girlfriend Bel Jones, we managed to tick off an ambitious shot list in a couple of days. A huge thanks goes out to Kurt Leen, Aroha Twaddle, Nicola King and Danny Fairly for lending me their time, and being such a fun cast to work with. For the car buffs out there, Kurts car is a 1957 Austin Cambridge. Danny Fairly, aka Civilian Sol who plays the hitchhiker composed the score for the film, and I used him to record the voice over. Another huge thanks to Lindsay Horner who did a great grade on the film, and Nigel at Sale St Studios on the sound mix. With the weekend coming up hopefully this inspires you to say, fuck it all, hop in the car and let what ever unfolds in front of you happen. Chur!
Mates In Alaska – The Introduction
Mates in Alaska – A vision of Jake Koia & Redbull
If you follow me on twitter, facebook, or instagram you will have seen my updates from a shoot in Alaska during March & April. I was in Alaska on an assignment directing/shooting & editing a television series called ‘Mates in Alaska’ for Redbull Media House, staring Jake Koia & Roland Morley Brown. The trip was mind blowing, and the series I’m creating should give you a great insight into the country, the people, the crew and of course the incredible snowboarding terrain. The series will be released soon, but for a tease, I thought I’d share a few images from Vaughan Brookfield – enjoy
Redbull / Mike ‘Hucker’ Clark in New Zealand
After working on Redbull Roast It earlier this year, I got assigned the task of running around with Mike ‘Hucker’ Clark for a day in Queenstown. We shot a completely off the cuff, on the fly piece for Redbull which has just been released. It was an incredible 24 hours, Hucker was a pleasure to work with. Check it out on redbulls site – http://www.redbull.co.nz/cs/Satellite/en_NZ/Video/Mike-Hucker-Clark-in-New-Zealand-021243335591585
