BTS Photos – In My Shoes: Kelly Mcgarry / Links

Here’s some behind the scenes stills from shooting ‘In My Shoes: Kelly Mcgarry/Links‘ for ya’ll to check out!

Jetboating up the ShotOver river to ride lines!

Unfortunately we had a few mechanical issues with our boat. Check out how much of the Willow tree we collected here.

Dragging bikes up cliffs

The main purpose behind the film we created was to show the Teva Links different features in action. I decided to do this by using a frame interpolating programme called twixtor to slow down our action + add some animation. Lindsay Horner being the genius that brings it all to life!

We traveled around the Queenstown Lakes District shooting for the film. Bannokburn was a great little hot spot. Will be heading back there for sure.

I used my glidecam to achieve alot of the moving shots in the film. Effectively doing intervals with weights!

In My Shoes: Kelly Mcgarry / Links

Over the past two months I’ve been working on this short film in collaboration with Teva & Kelly Mcgarry. We shot on a wide variety of terrain around the Queenstown Lakes District area, to incorporate a lot of our beautiful landscapes and amazing trails. I’m stoked on the outcome and am looking forward to shooting more mountain biking. Great to take it back to my roots!

For the techies, this was shot on Canon 5d/7d with a range of Canon primes, GoPros used for POV. I used the glidecam4000hd for alot of the moving shots, and recorded audio on the Zoomh4n. Motionfx were done by Lindsay Horner, using twixtor/ After FX for the super slowmo shoe shots. Will post some behind the scenes photos / videos soon!

The Crown Motorcycle Club

Some motor bike diaries / journo styled images that I shot of the Crown Motorcycle Club last year in June.

Just Cause…

I’ve been shooting a few stills recently. I don’t do many studio portraits, but pulled out the flashes and shot these for giggles. You should never need a reason to take a photo. More to come.

Revealing Lake Wanaka – James Stapley

If you’re viewing this video on an empty stomach, be warned you may start drooling! It was my pleasure to hang out with culinary master mind James Stapley and shoot a little slice of his life. This is the ninth episode of my series Revealing Lake Wanaka which I started in 2010 with the support of Lake Wanaka Tourism. It’s a great time to reflect, and look back through the eps. Here’s some behind the scenes images taken by Bel Jones. Big thanks to Brett & Toby Mills from Queenstown Camera & Local Action for the lights hire.

It’d be a crime if the crew didn’t get a taster.  Bel Jones enjoys!
